Adventure Sports Foundation of Ladakh (ASFL) promotes environmental responsibility through sports while instilling sustainable behavioral changes. We are committed to creating meaningful change towards a more sustainable future.

This event will be conducted in a very sustainable manner with no use of plastic water bottles and waste generating products. We believe there is no force stronger than sports to unite people of different races and religions, and climate crisis like issues demands such a collaborative force. Hence we connect sports to causes larger than the self. In case of this run it is a lifetime opportunity for one to pay tribute to our brave soldiers who gave their life for our nation.

PREVIEWING “THE LAST RUN”

USING MARATHON TO SHOW THE IMPACTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE IN THE HIMALAYAN GLACIERS

Who says you can’t walk (or run) on water? This remarkable event offers you the opportunity to do exactly the same on the frozen waters of the famous Pangong Lake in Ladakh. The Pangong Frozen Lake Marathon is limited to 50 runners of all abilities for this year. Every step is taken on pure ice, it’s the flattest race you’ll ever run and an experience you’ll never forget.

Frozen lake marathon has been a well known adventure activity worldwide including Icebug Frozen lake marathon in Norway. Running in winter is not an easy task, but running on a frozen lake makes it thrilling for adventurers all across the country and the world. This run is a psychologically and physically demanding one. This event is organized to enjoy Pangong not only in summer for tourists but also in winter for the Tough. Pangong lake is situated at an altitude of 4,350 meters above the sea level which makes it the world's highest salt water lake. With this we will be setting a Guinness World Record for running on the highest frozen lake marathon in the world.
